DREAM IT
Building on decades of experience in commercial real estate, FortyTwo Communites’ founders came together in 2017 to respond to the steady decline of live-performance, recording, and arts fabrication spaces in the downtown core by building commercial & light industrial spaces that were conducive to those uses.
In the process, it became clear these creative clusters were powerful kindling for building participatory communities, and for neighbourhood-scale regeneration.
BUILD IT
Today, FortyTwo Communities is building on that insight at a greater scale as a mixed-use urban developer that views sites as canvasses for arts & culture, inclusive housing, and greater sustainability.
We specialize in the early identification of drivers leading to major sub-market growth and adds to local momentum through creative hubs that serve as cornerstones of social & cultural infrastructure.
We invest significant time and effort in building strong partnerships with communities to design real estate projects that serve local needs and garner deep local support.
GROW IT
Once built, FortyTwo Communities provides hands-on site management through thoughtful tenant curation and creative placemaking initiatives that bring vibrancy to sites and surrounding areas.
We embark on real estate projects with a view toward long-term asset management while providing multiple paths for capital partners to play supportive roles, motivated by the belief that neighbourhood prosperity and asset growth are fundamentally interlinked.
